The Familiar
Throughout this project, light as a guide underlyed my design choices. When we see light, it psychologically signals to us that this is the direction that we should travel in.
Comprised primarily of windows, a large greenhouse sits at the very center of the ship. Surrounded on all four sides by other, more expendable parts, it is protected from external threats.
The building-esque form was chosen to provide agriculturists with a sense of home, as returning to Earth is impossible.
Inspired by the biblical story of Noah’s Ark, ARK is Earthen life’s last chance at survival. Transporting 700+ species of organic plant life, ARK is built by agriculturists for agriculturists.
Though it is a passive vessel, ARK’s purpose is to keep the life it carries alive at any cost--therefore it is equipped with a series of cannons inspired by the Nerf gun’s original function.
